The Peruvian economy has improved some since I first arrived in Iquitos in 1998.
That said, there are still thousands of children here who do not receive adequate nutrition. “Why not?” you may ask. For a lack of funds. It breaks my heart to see children not receiving adequate nutrition. Calcium from milk is so crucial to a small child whose bones need it so much.
